Marlin H. Bruner papers, 1938-1973, (bulk 1953-1957)

The papers document Bruner's career at Clemson College, particularly in the1950s. Robert Franklin Poole, 1893-1958 was a noted plant pathologist and president of Clemson College from 1940-1958. A 1916 graduate of Clemson College, Poole received his M.S. and Ph. D. in plant pathology from Rutgers University. Poole was appointed associate professor and plant pathologist at North Carolina College in 1926. As president of Clemson from 1940-1958, he oversaw the de-militarization of the campus, the admission of women, and major changes in the physical plant of the campus. ...

Marlin H. Bruner, Forester and Professor at Clemson University, helped to manage the land acquired by Clemson during the 1930s from 1939-1942 and from 1954 until his retirement in 1971.
